Gosh! I love how technology has made life easier for us.
I remember trying to post some items on my online store of a paid site.
Not only the instructions were complicated and vague but the overall procedures itself left me gasping for air!!!
I was not going to sell items by the hundreds, just a few knickknacks and trinkets but having to go through such difficulty in setting up was a big turn-off not only for me but for others as well.
Or perhaps, I was not that well versed of the functions and features...??
Anyway until today "my store" is empty and void of any item...hmmm .. it is a store with no merchandise.
However... I found something today on the net.

TRIVIA ... WORDFRENZY, ANYONE???
My sister exclaimed in amazement some weeks ago!
"My god, the way you are at it, it is as if you are competing for RM1million!!"
Ooohhh...ahhh.. was my slurred reply.. whilst my fingers jumped automatically on the keyboard. Yes... I got the bug! The Trivia and WordFrenzy Bug from the Net.
I used to play the Trivia and was placed 2nd in one site some many many months ago. I was always proud to see my nick there whenever I logged in because it was global, international and I was 2nd top. Eventhough it was just another Trivia site, but hey, it was international and I was competing with Americans, Canadians, Australians, those from the UK and Europe and many other countries!
After a while, I realised that most of my precious time had been taken up by my Trivia obsession. I lagged in my work and did not socialise anymore. My time was at the net trivia..ing away. My eyes bulged with sleepless nights and my shoulders and back ached badly from long hours of triviaing. Goshh... this gotta stop.. I snapped out one day. Everything had deteriorated. I had to learn to manage my time correctly. And so with a heavy heart, I made a decision to completely disengage myself from trivia. It was difficult at first, it was like trying to stop smoking or something, I would be surfing the net and the next moment, there I was back at the Trivia site.
I pulled myself together and reminded myself of my other obligations and with one long heavy heave I striked out the trivia site addy from my favourite section and also from my heart, literally. I didnt make any attempt anymore to log into the site. Well... it was crazy at first but with time, things healed, I managed to forget trivia completely and had more time then for work and social. Boy, was I grateful?? Friends saw more of my face and presence, my work got finished on time and I could do a lot of other activities. I did not have bulging red eyes anymore and my shoulders and back felt good. Someone commented that my posture had improved too ..hehe...
Well about a month ago, I inadvertently logged into the trvia site whilst surfing the net and just out of curiosity, I checked the tab of winners and found my nick was pushed down to 6th place. I smiled to myself, "after all these months I was at
6th place, well not bad," I complimented myself.. :P.
Then I noticed they had added another game ..WordFrenzy. I just brushed it off and logged out.
I was surfing again a few days later when I logged into a Community Site where they had Chat Rooms of different categories and that included Trivia and WordFrenzy.
Out of human curiousity again, I logged into the WordFrenzy room and watched how the game was played. Once in a while I would just butt in and typed out words. It was at first just something I did whilst idling, but when I hit a Jackpot and had 3000 points handed to me, I became excited! And so I continued a while. Then I managed to unscramble a word with the letters jumbled and scored another 1500 points. Aha.. my curiosity was at the peak now...and when I typed out certain command, I was pleasantly surprised, I managed to steal points from the other WF players... and they too managed to steal my points or we threw points into the Jackpot, until someone hit it! Hmmm.... "this is swell" ... I thought!
And after that all I know was, I was back infront of the screen day in and day out competing in WF with my international WF enthusiasts. I was twice champion and had my nick on the top with the caption 'Current Champion..NINA' and that was the catalyst to make me stay infront of the screen more.!
My eyes were red again, my shoulders and back strained .. and one friend remarked .."Hey Nina .. wats happening.. you are slouching???"
Hmmm... that was bad.. I didnt learn my lesson well!!! That had to stop!!
My time management thing had gone down the drain again!
After thinking for a while, I reckoned I would rather spend my time infront of the screen doing some online businesses and raking in income rather than spending most of my time playing games online and raking in nuts, just pride and self esteem!
Well there was nothing wrong with that, it was just that when things became an obsession it would not be right anymore.
Those games are great to play and educational but we must know the limit to it!
I would still be playing the WordFrenzy.. it is good for mental stimulation, it forces us to think fast and accurate and it is excellent for mental and physical coordination.. too ..you think and you type...both must be at par!
Nothing absolutely wrong with the games, be it Trivia or WordFrenzy, they are awesome!
The only thing that is not right is you yourself who do not know how to manage your timings..and priorities...
....namely...ME :P :))))
